WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU EXPERIENCE WIND DAMAGE TO YOUR HOME/ROOF

STEP 1. IMMEDIATELY CONTACT A MITIGATION/RESTORATION COMPANY

Contact a mitigation/restoration company immediately to secure the roof and home, in an attempt to minimize damages to the home. This is specifically applicable to damages that are allowing the elements into your home, like rain or snow.

STEP 2. CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE CARRIER

Contact your insurance CARRIER and begin the claim process. Wind damage is often a covered loss under most policies. Be aware, though, that damages will be viewed per event, and not as cumulative damage. This means that only damages that occurred at the same time will be lumped together. If there is any old damage not related to the claimed event, that damage will not be included in your claim, more often than not.

STEP 3. WORK WITH YOUR INSURANCE ADJUSTOR TO GET DAMAGES ESTIMATE

Work directly with your insurance adjuster to get an estimate for the damages. For example, a damaged roof oftentimes does not mean the roof will be replaced, despite what a roofing professional may tell you. Allow insurance to determine the damages and then work with a roofer/contractor to make the repairs to the home.

STEP 4. CONTACT A MITIGATION COMPANY TO CLEAN UP DAMAGE INSIDE OF HOME

If there is damage inside the home due to the elements getting in, this would be treated just like any other water loss. A mitigation/restoration company should be used to assess and clean up then repair the damage.

WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED

We will work hard to assess the damage that has been incurred. From checking for less obvious damage, such as mold and other biological hazards, to fully inspecting the structural integrity of your home or business. Once we have gathered all the needed information, we will create a comprehensive plan that is best suited to your circumstances. No matter what kinds of damage your home sustains, our professionals will restore it the way it was.

WHAT IS THE STORM DAMAGE REPAIR & CLEANUP PROCESS?

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to repairing your home after a severe weather event. How we approach your property’s restoration largely depends on the type of weather damage it sustained. Although the disaster cleanup and repair process will vary depending on the cause and severity of the damage, these are the basic steps for most storm restoration services.

1. ASSESS THE DAMAGE

Inspect your property and provide an estimate for disaster cleanup. At this point we can also help you find out if your insurance will cover the damage.

2. SECURE YOUR PROPERTY

If necessary, we will secure your property by tarping and boarding up the outside.

3. REMOVE WATER

Remove floodwaters or sewage

4. DISPOSE OF DAMAGED MATERIALS

Dispose of materials that are too damaged to keep or save.

5. DRY THE AREA

Dry out your property with high volume fans and dehumidifiers.

6. CLEAN YOUR PROPERTY

Clean and remove dirt, debris and other contaminants.

7. DISINFECT & DEODORIZE

Disinfect and deodorize your property to ensure it is safe after a storm.

8. REBUILD & RESTORE

The last step of storm restoration is to rebuild and restore your home or business.
